A citrus grove will be planted at the Richmond Community Food Garden in recognition of the assistance given by Steve Tzortzis to the garden and the school community.

During the months of Oct, Nov and Dec, Mobile Muster is giving Sustainable Living Tasmania $5 for every phone recycled through them. Reduce waste by bringing your phones and accessories to the Richmond Online Centre or to the Mobile Muster bin at the SLT office in Murray Street.

Our end of year function will be a dinner on 3rd December.

The next meeting for the Coal River Group is on Wednesday Feb  at 7 pm at the Community Meeting Room, 22 Torrens Street, Richmond. Group contact: Penny Wadsley   Ph  6260 2950 or email pmwadsley@ozemail.com.au  or find us on Facebook as Coal-River-Valley-Sustainable-Living-Group-Richmond

Winter 2015

Coal River Valley Sustainable Living Group

There are now over 100 electric vehicles on the road in Tasmania.  Consequently the Australian Electric Vehicle Association has formed a State Chapter which will be holding its launch at the State Theatre on Saturday 15th August starting at 10 am.  There will be short films, an expert panel presentation and a Q&A session including local owners of electric vehicles to answer your questions. There will also be a range of electric vehicles on display including a Tesslar, Mitsubishi PHEV Outlander 4WD,  Nissan Leaf etc.
Tasmania’s petroleum is now imported directly from south east Asia.  Electricity represents a locally produced, sustainable, secure transport-energy supply.  Design has commenced regarding installation of an EV charging network in Tasmania.  What you spend stays here.

There will be no August meeting. The next meeting for our group is on Wednesday 9th September  at 7 pm at the Community Meeting Room, 22 Torrens Street, Richmond.  Prospective members are very welcome to attend.  If you would like to be involved with the Richmond Community Food Garden, contact  Tara on 0431966065.
