Electric Vehicles at Richmond Market

Coal River Valley Sustainable Living Group

Electric Vehicle Event at Richmond Market Sat. 20th February, 10 till 3 pm.

Come and see some of the vehicles currently available and speak to the owners about their experiences. This event is being held in conjunction with the Australian Electric Vehicle Association and the Richmond Farmers and Makers Market. Vehicles likely to be on display include the Tesla, Outlander PHEV 4 WD and Nissan Leaf.
The AEVA is currently organizing a bulk purchase of 2012 model Nissan Leaf EV’s.  Contact Penny by email for more information.

Recently someone dug out raspberry canes and fresh potatoes from the Community Garden. This garden is located on private property and we ask that people do not remove items from the garden without notifying either Tara (0431966065) or Nikki (0409536156) before doing so. The produce is primarily for the people who tend the Community Garden, the Centacare residents (on whose land it stands) and also for use by the children at Richmond Primary School during supervised classes only

The next meeting of the Coal River Valley Sustainable Living Group is on Wednesday 10th February  at 7 pm at the Community Meeting Room, 22 Torrens Street, Richmond.

Winter 2015

Coal River Valley Sustainable Living Group

There are now over 100 electric vehicles on the road in Tasmania.  Consequently the Australian Electric Vehicle Association has formed a State Chapter which will be holding its launch at the State Theatre on Saturday 15th August starting at 10 am.  There will be short films, an expert panel presentation and a Q&A session including local owners of electric vehicles to answer your questions. There will also be a range of electric vehicles on display including a Tesslar, Mitsubishi PHEV Outlander 4WD,  Nissan Leaf etc.
Tasmania’s petroleum is now imported directly from south east Asia.  Electricity represents a locally produced, sustainable, secure transport-energy supply.  Design has commenced regarding installation of an EV charging network in Tasmania.  What you spend stays here.

There will be no August meeting. The next meeting for our group is on Wednesday 9th September  at 7 pm at the Community Meeting Room, 22 Torrens Street, Richmond.  Prospective members are very welcome to attend.  If you would like to be involved with the Richmond Community Food Garden, contact  Tara on 0431966065.
